The tool cannot be described as the most powerful one the market, as it still needs some improvements in the GUI area. It can be easily configured and installed by all types of users, regardless of their experience level. During our testing we have noticed that the tool offers good image quality and no errors showed during our testing. It is important to mention that hotkeys are also available for a better control over the entire process, but they cannot be reassigned. Plus, you can preview the cards before printing them. It is possible to create multiple QSL cards and sort them by call sign. QSL Maker allows users to add details about the call sign, time and date when it occurred, radio frequency, signal report, and the mode of transmission used. QSL Maker enables you to select the size of the card, specify the number of pages, choose the background color, insert the call sign and set its position on the card. It boasts a clean and simple interface that gives users the possibility to perform most operations with just a few clicks. I’d like to offer my samples of recent QSL cards I created here in this post, and let you know I can create any kind of custom cartoons for your card you’re planning.Ham radio qsl card printers Ham radio qsl card printers On by Kazibei McCall entitled “Convoy” which made the popularity of CB radios explode and in a way, it ruined the allure since so many people went out and bought their own CB radios….every person on the block had one and all the order that once exisited across the 27 Mhz frequencies was a mixture of “opinions” – like what we now see on Facebook. Then a one hit wonder of a song came out by country singer C.W. You could say CB radios were like Facebook back in those days. I’m talking about the 1970’s and long before the popularity of the internet was even a glimmer in the eyes of Steve Jobs or Bill Gates. Many years ago when I played around with citizens band or CB radio, qsl cards were very popular. I thought I’d write a brief synopsis of these unique personal identification cards that also offer great potential for cartoons to be personalized upon and illustrated for their owners.įor those who are unaware, a qsl card is actually a form of “business card” that is exchanged between fans of amateur or ham radio and citizens band radio users who make long distance contact over their favorite frequencies.īoth types of radio aficionados utilize these unique post card size cards as their “calling card” that includes their call sign, some personal or favorite graphics (and yes, cartoons!) emblazoned across the card and their favorite frequency they hang out at or “monitor” CB Radio Cartoons and more Custom QSL cartoons recently came to mind after just being contacted by a ham radio operator in Michigan who wanted to license one of my cartoons for a line of qsl cards he planned on printing up.

So far, it is not much different from any weather application/gadget out there. Once selected, the second list will become populated with the cities/towns in that specific state.īut let’s get to the most interesting point of this application. There, the state can be either selected on the map, or through the list on top. Here, the user can either enter the location directly or use the Location Selector, which is useful if the user lives in the United States – once clicking the button with the globe, a window with a map will appear. To specify the location, the user should click on the Change Location label. The numbers above each of the four days represent the highest and the lowest temperature expected for the day. Then there comes the humidity and the forecast for the next four days. The current temperature is represented both in Fahrenheit and Celsius scales. The image on the left represents the current conditions in the city/town specified. The main application window looks like this: I used Google Weather API as the interface to worldwide weather (it is easier to use and it returns enough data in a single API call). The application I have created is called WeatherBar, and it uses the taskbar to display weather conditions in a specific location. Since I had some experience developing software that is using the new Windows 7 features (the taskbar and associated jumplists, to be specific), I thought that it would be a good idea to participate in this contest as well.Īfter a short period of brainstorming and whiteboard drawing, I decided to use the full potential of the Windows 7 taskbar. The idea behind it is creating an application that is using some of the new features Windows 7 has introduced. I decided to enter the CodeProject “Windows Work” article contest.
